As Minuteman continues to see great growth, not only in our southern states but also across the nation, great things are happening that allow us to serve more communities and families.

As our volunteer base continues to grow to nearly 450 members in 28 states, we must also grow our staff to support the needs of our volunteers and, ultimately, the people we serve.  For this reason, we recently went on a search for an Assistant Executive Director.  During our search, over 30 people applied for the position, and we are excited to share with you that we have finalized the process and have some great news.

We are pleased to announce to you that Eric Burkes has been promoted to the position of Assistant Executive Director, National Operations.

Eric has been with Minuteman since 2018, where he started out as a volunteer, quickly moving into a volunteer leadership role and then being hired on staff in the fall of 2019.  He has served as the Region 6 Operations Director since then and has proven invaluable to our organization's success.  We are confident that with his knowledge and experience, he will do a great job leading us into the next season of Minuteman.  Eric is a husband and father of two. He and his family enjoy the great outdoors, riding four-wheelers and skiing whenever possible.

Additionally, we are excited to inform you that John Lebeau has been hired to join our team as Assistant Executive Director, National Development.

John began serving as a volunteer with Minuteman in 2019 and has been on numerous deployments and most recently has been serving in the role of Deputy Director of Relief Operations.  During 2023, John logged over 700 volunteer hours serving with Minuteman and always answered the call when needed to deploy.  With John's business acumen coupled with his experience with Minuteman, we are excited about the new opportunities the organization will begin to see through the development area.  John spends his time outside MDR with his wife and as the volunteer maintenance director for his church.

John will join our staff in January of 2024.
