Minuteman Disaster Response's newest team, the Advance Relief Team (ART), has deployed to Slidell, LA, to serve residents following recent tornado outbreaks.
The ART was designed so that highly trained volunteers could be on the ground serving residents moments after storms rip through cities. The team is comprised of Sawyer and Heavy Equipment trained members who work quickly to clear roads and homes of those most affected.
Robert Dodd, a member of ART, had the chance to speak with Leslie ‘Chucky' Williams, a Slidell, LA resident and survivor of the tornado outbreaks. Chucky told Robert that after surviving Hurricane Katrina nearly ten years ago, no storm would stop him from recovering.
